Randy's New Program, (RE)Awakening the Passion and Energy in Your Work (and Life), Delivered at Annual MACET Conference

July 14, 2006  Traverse City, Michigan

At this year's Michigan Association for Continuing Education & Training (MACET) Annual Conference in Traverse City, Michigan, Randy Dean presented a brand new course. This course, "(Re)Awakening the Passion and Energy in Your Work (and Life)", might be a perfect program for just about any professional association.

Here's the information on that course:

It was the endnote presentation for all conference attendees, completing the two-day conference on a high-note. This course is directly related to the content in Randy's new book, "Major Satisfactors = Major Success: A Unique New Way to Look at How We All Spend, Use, and Waste Our Time." Unlike Randy's more tactical time management and PDA programs, this program provides more of a holistic, bigger picture look at work and life, and how people are currently spending their time in their work vs. how they would ideally prefer to be spending their time in work (and life!) It is much more of an interactive, facilitated program than Randy's other programs -- rather than being just a speaker, Randy also act as a facilitator and group exercise leader. There are many group discussions, partner exercises, and individual exercises built into the program.

According to post-program evaluation surveys, this program did VERY well. 71% of the attendees rated the program "Excellent", and 97% rated the program "Excellent" or "Above Average". 100% stated the program achieved the training goals (with a 4 or 5 rating). As Randy said, "I'm extremely pleased with the performance of this new program. This program was delivered to an audience of professional educators and trainers, usually a very skeptical and critical audience. Due to the highly interactive nature of the program and the built-in audience participation, I actually enjoy leading this program more than any of my previous programs. It is just a fun course to teach, that obviously also creates immediate value for participants."

Here are a couple of the attendee comments: "Randall's enthusiasm is contagious ... He imparts practical, usable information that works on the job and at home." "I have nothing profound enough to share which would equate to the value of this program's common sense approach." "Randy's honest belief and knowledge coupled with his energy and enthusiasm provide an excellent learning and re-energizing opportunity." For MACET, Randy did a 2.5 hour program on this topic, but this time frame could easily be adjusted in terms of time (length) and content to fit any conference program session format. (A new informational flyer on this program will be available very soon.)

Also for MACET, RDC&T & the conference organizers reached an arrangement where every attendee received a copy of Randy's book, "Major Satisfactors = Major Success" (which the content of the program is based on). This is not necessary, but is definitely a way to allow program attendees to have something to "take home with them". Another option might be for a post-conference session book sale & signing. Either or both of these options can be discussed as part of this program offering for just about any conference presentation. This course would make a very popular and relevant session for just about any conference or association membership meeting, and may also be a relevant staff training/enhancement program for appropriate organizations.
